Transport NSW has provided Inner West Council with $ 1 million in funding to upgrade the northern side of Sydenham Road between Fitzroy St and Shirlow St, through the reVITALise – Public Transport Precinct Vibrancy Grant
Creating a vibrant and welcoming streetscape between Fitzroy Street and Shirlow Street
This project is Stage 1 of Council's Sydenham Road Strategy
This Stage 1 project involves:
- Reconstruction of the footpath, driveways and kerb & gutter in Sydenham Road, between Fitzroy St and Shirlow St.
- Construction of new garden beds within the grass verge area
- Supply and installation of seating and tables in selected locations
- Supply and installation of fairy lights in existing trees
The Stage 1 project excludes upgrade of the intersections of Fitzroy St, Cadagan St, Sloane St and Shirlow St. These intersections will be part of a later stage of works in Sydenham Road.
