Project description: Restoration and upgrade works are being undertaken to enhance the functionality, accessibility and heritage features of the Town Hall. The project includes the refurbishment of the lower ground floor, featuring replacement of the existing concrete floor, comprehensive accessibility improvements, and the construction of new accessible toilet facilities. Heritage restoration works will also see the careful conservation of the timber panelling in the Town Hall’s main foyer. To improve the venue’s performance and user experience, audio visual and acoustic upgrades will be delivered throughout the hall and basement areas, helping to minimise sound transmission and enhance event capabilities. Additional improvements include upgraded air conditioning and lighting systems to provide greater comfort and energy efficiency, as well as repairs to the brick pathways at the Petersham Road entrance to the hall, improving safety and accessibility for visitors.
