- Project description: Birchgrove Oval is the historic home of the Balmain Tigers and a hub for community cricket, rugby league and soccer. In 2025 Council engaged the sporting clubs who have long requested improvements to the amenity, to brief an architect to finalise the concept design.
- Improvements to the amenity include
- Relocation of WC’s to the front
- A new accessible toilet
- Home and away change rooms with storage, a toilet and showers
- A new canteen, storage room and covered areas for local clubs
- Tiered spectator seating for 70 adults
- Landscaping including an outdoor timber deck for club BBQs, and lighting
- Façade improvements
- Renewal of electrical services
- A Design and Construction contract has now been awarded, and the works have commenced.
