Pei and Kim founded their friendship over a shared passion for the art of illustration and a love of coffee and pastries. Realising how well these shared interests complemented each other, they decided to create an art market that would bring all three together. Thus, Potluck & Friends was born. A bespoke illustration market that shares with the community what illustration is and how broad the practice can be, all within the walls of a much-loved food spot in the heart of Newtown. Potluck & Friends will feature illustrators working across a variety of fields within the practice of illustration. It offers working illustrators the opportunity to run creative workshops and sell their unique work directly at the venue, including art prints, zines, posters, postcards, original artwork, and art games.
Collaborators include: Aley Wild, Christina Huynh, Consuelost (Consuelo Lorenas), Felix Saw, James Gulliver Hancock, Lizzie Nagy, Lotte Alexis, Love Is A Sign (Ann Woo), Luke Tribe, Meg O’Shea, Mike Watt, Nhung Le, Nico Nicoson, Pia Wrigg, PPANG (Haein Kim and Paul Rhodes), Scott Wrigg, Numpty (Sethana), and Quirkimi (Kimi). Quirkimi will be creating her amazing live portraits across both days of the market.
