BALMAIN LIBRARY & TOWN HALL RENEWAL
Dear Resident,
I’m excited to inform you that work has commenced on revitalizing the Balmain Town Hall and Library.
Inner West Council is investing approximately $4 million to bring you this project.
This work will bring the library up to contemporary design standards and refurbish the building to improve the customer experience for children and families.
Re-enlivening the Town Hall will help convert it into a modern public performance venue for local artists and musicians.
These works are part of the $10.4 million investment Council has allocated to buildings this year.
The library will remain open during construction but close occasionally for public safety reasons.
Council buildings are assets owned by the whole community. Many provide services to local people of all ages and programs to help disadvantaged people.
Council is committed to improving the quality and access of these vital community hubs.
For more information on this project, including schedule, potential impacts on services and contact details, please see the reverse of this page.
Yours sincerely,
Darcy Byrne
Inner West Mayor
