Take action for the environment on Clean Up Australia Day

It's time to get involved in Australia’s largest community-based environmental event, Clean Up Australia Day. Last year Australians picked up 468,482 pieces of litter, and Clean Up Australia are looking to beat that number in 2024!

The theme this year is Step Up To Unite, a call to action to connect with your local community, colleagues or classmates to take action and remove litter from the environment. By getting involved you will contribute to the protection and conservation of local rivers, parks and neighbourhoods.

There are three ways you can participate:

Join an existing site on the day
Register and host a site on your own
Make a donation

This year’s dates are 27 February (Business Clean Up), 1 March (Schools Clean Up) and 3 March (Clean Up Australia Day).

Clean Up Australia provides equipment for clean up events and Inner West Council supports this event by collecting rubbish bags from registered community sites.
