What's On Environment and Sustainability

Celebrating one year of the Inner West Sustainability Hub

garden space with people wandering around

This July is one year since the launch of the Inner West Sustainability Hub!

The mission of the Hub is to provide Inner West residents with access to resources, services and information to empower individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes.

The tenants at the Inner West Sustainability Hub; Dress for Success, The Bower and Re Place all have important roles in contributing to the mission of the Hub and are each doing incredible things for the local community and environment.

Through the Hub and Inner West Green Living Centre, thousands of visitors have participated in activities including:

🧸 embracing the circular economy through monthly community swaps (rotating between books, clothes, toys and plants)

🪑 donating recycled or upcycled unused goods through the Hub’s tenants

🚲 getting back on their bike thanks to a bike tune up or maintenance workshop

💡 making changes at home following an energy efficiency consultation or workshop with Adam from Your Energy Friend

🔌 switching from a gas stove to an induction stove following an induction cooking workshop

🌿 attending any of the series of gardening workshops offered, including seasonal planting, propagation and soil building

We're looking forward to another year of coming together at the Hub.
