Arts support during COVID-19

We have compiled a list on links to information for our artists, musicians and creative sector communities to find assistance and information during the COVID-19 pandemic. 


  • Arts Front
    Keeping Connected grants provide a one-off $210 payment to artists who have no internet access or are at risk of loosing their internet access, for further information please contact Anne Dunn at the Every Voice Foundation,
  • Australia Council for the Arts
    Funding opportunities available for Arts Projects Individuals & Groups $10,000 - $50,000, Arts Projects Organisations $20,000 - $100,000, Fellowships $80,000, National Arts and Disability Awards $20,000 - $50,000 closes 1 September 2020.   
  • Australian Cultural Fund
    Fundraising platform for Australian artists, artists upload their projects to the ACF website then invite art lovers and supporters to donate.
  • City of Sydney
    Grants programs ranging from Matching grants, Festivals and Event Sponsorship to Business Support grants - Live Music and Performance are open until 31 August 2020. Quick Response grant applications are accepted all year up to $2,000 available. 
  • Create NSW
    Small Project grants, quick response now open, up to $5,000 available to support the creation of new work and professional development.
  • Creative Partnerships Australia
    Matched funding programs including Plus1 for small to medium not-for-profit arts organisations and MATCH lab for independent artists and groups. 
  • Copyright Agency
    Create grants offering opportunities for mid-career and established creative writers and visual artists to create and develop new work, applications open until 14 September 2020. 
  • Message Media
    Small Business grants are available to boost small business, 3 grants are available that include $1,000 for business needs, 6 Months subscription to Pro SMS package, ongoing support and assistance in setting up and using SMS, closes 14 August 2020.  
  • Screen NSW
    A range of funding opportunities are currently open including Early Development grants offering support up to $50,000 for pre-draft and early draft costs. 
  • Support Act
    Crisis Relief Grants COVID-19, available to musicians, crew and music workers impacted by COVID-19. 
  • Theatre Network Australia
    1000 x 1000 Crisis Cash for Artists, requests for support. A group of performing arts companies have been actively fundraising to provide emergency relief for artists in need. 

Financial support

  • Actors Benevolent Fund of NSW
    Provides compassionate and confidential support, to help entertainment professionals throughout NSW maintain their health, dignity and ability to work.
  • Artists Benevolent Fund
    Provides modest but useful one-off financial assistance to Australian visual artists in crisis as a result of emergencies.Australian Government 
  • Australian Government Treasury
    Federal Government measures to provide hardship support information for individuals and businesses.
  • Australian Tax Office
    COVID-19 support available for Individual, Business and Not for Profits.
  • Organisations NAVA Guide 
    NAVA guide for Australian Government measures to assist businesses and employers during COVID-19.
  • Sole Traders NAVA Guide 
    NAVA guide to Australian Government measures to assist sole traders during COVID-19.
  • Support Act 
    Crisis Relief Grants COVID-19, available to musicians, crew and music workers impacted by COVID-19, unable to access Government assistance. 



  • Ausdance
    Ausdance National COVID-19 impact survey for the dance sector to provide an understanding of the needs of dance professionals to develop sector specific responses.
  • I Lost My Gig
    Tallies the economic impact of lost gigs.
  • Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance
    MEAA is seeking submissions to document the economic, financial and social impact of COVID-19 on the arts.
  • National Association for the Visual Arts
    NAVA is seeking submissions to understand the impacts of COVID-19 on the visual arts community to support and advocate immediate action.
