Multicultural Inner West

The Inner West is the birthplace of multiculturalism in Australia. We are proud of our strong multicultural roots and seek to acknowledge and celebrate the many cultures, traditions and languages living in and visiting the Inner West.

Council aspires to strengthen our socially inclusive and cohesive community where people from all cultural backgrounds feel embraced and celebrated.

We aim to maintain a socially inclusive and cohesive environment though supporting communities to hold cultural events, encourage intercultural events and activities as a way for all communities to get to know one another and through culturally responsive service provision.

Inner West Council, in partnership with local services, provides a range of support to migrants, newly arrived and established including humanitarian entrants and asylum seekers.
