Art After Dark: Inner West Music Series

Friday 17 April, Friday 24 April and Friday 1 May, 2026 - White Bay Power Station

The Biennale of Sydney's Art After Dark program will transform White Bay Power Station on Friday evenings with music, art and outdoor food markets. Art After Dark forms a unique, multi-voiced platform for contemporary music, bridging local scenes, experimental practice, and large-scale festival experiences, and offering an extraordinary soundtrack to your Biennale journey.

Across three nights, the Inner West Council Music Series spotlights emerging voices from our own backyard, bringing the sounds, stories and diversity of our local music scene to Biennale’s global stage. The line-up features headline sets from local, all-female punk rock band Body Type, visionary Sydney-based producer and DJ, Yes Boone, and ARIA-Award winning R&B rising star, BOY SODA. Audiences will get access to the music stage, as well as late night entry to the exhibition spaces.

"Bringing new voices together with some of the country’s finest performers in a venue of this calibre offers a powerful chance to connect, inspire, and celebrate the creative energy that music sparks in all of us." - Niriko McClure, Music Curator

Art After Dark x Inner West Music presents Body Type and RAGEFLOWER

Friday 17 April, 6-9pm

Body Type are a rock band based in Sydney and the Illawarra, NSW. Their unique post punk sound has been refined across 2 EPs and 2 albums, earning such accolades as Next Big Thing and Best Live Act at the FBi SMAC Awards, shortlisting for the Australian Music Prize, a nomination for Best Live Guitarist at the National Live Music Awards and generous acclaim across global press and radio (Billboard, Rolling Stone, NME, Fader, Sydney Morning Herald, The Guardian, Apple Music's Matt Wilkinson, BBC Radio 1's Jack Saunders and many more).

Body Type will be supported by RAGEFLOWER. With a sound that blurs the line between alt-rock, dream-pop, and art music, RAGEFLOWER creates immersive sonic worlds that pull you in and refuse to let go. Her live performances are charged and cathartic - part confessional, part spectacle.

Art After Dark x Inner West Music presents Yes Boone and Mell Hall

Friday 24 April, 6-9pm

Introducing Yes Boone (formerly known as Boone), the multifaceted and visionary Sydney-based producer. A wizard of sample-based dance music, Yes Boone seamlessly blends the cutting edge of dance with an unmistakeable signature style, carving out a niche that is both avant-garde and entirely his own.

Yes Boone's successes extend far beyond his production, quickly scoring a debut festival slot at Wildlands (AU), smashing a sold out B2B at Liberty Hall (SYD) & Freo Social (PER) with Scott Tweedie, and playing Ability Fest (AU) amassing millions of views across social media platforms on his rise.

Boone will be joined by Special Guest Mell Hall. Mell broke through in 2021 with her record breaking debut single 'Knock Knock' featuring Thandi Phoenix, and has since signed to Club Sweat and added her remix flavour to artists David Penn, Milk & Sugar, Peking Duk and Northeast Party House.

Art After Dark x Inner West Music presents BOY SODA and Anieszka

Friday 1 May, 6-9pm

Sydney singer, rapper, songwriter and producer, BOY SODA (aka Brae Luafalealo) has firmly cemented his place as one of Australia’s most exciting new voices in soul and R&B. His music pushes the boundaries of genre and emotion, effortlessly blurring the lines between R&B, pop, classic soul and experimental groove.

BOY SODA won the 2025 ARIA Award for Best Soul/R&B release, and is fresh off the back of his Lil Obsession Tour, captivating audiences across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. His live shows, backed by a dynamic band, blend electrifying energy with intimacy, vulnerability and heart.

Supporting BOY SODA is Anieszka, an Australian/Mauritian artist based in Eora/Sydney. Fusing R&B, Soul and her Mauritian roots, she provides introspection with her thought-provoking writing and dulcet vocals. Aniezka has opened for artists such as Two Another and Big Words, and played showcases at BIGSOUND (2023) and SXSW Sydney (2024 & 2025). This is hypnotic, soulful music in its purest form.
