Learn the Language of Film Making with Lee Whitmore
Thursday 21 February 1-3pm
Leichhardt Library
Join acclaimed local film maker and animator Lee Whitmore for a screening and workshop.
Lee will discuss how films are developed and the steps needed to carry-though a good idea. How does a director take something that begins as mere words on paper to a moving image that tells a story? Lee will also show you a sequence from a movie and explain how to reverse storyboard it. This means you will look at a sequence shot by shot and discover how it has been constructed.
As part of the session, Lee will show one of her films ‘The Safe House’. This is an animated 26 minute film set in 1954 that tells a story of Lee’s childhood and her family’s brush with the cold war spy drama known as the Petrov Affair.
