Movies in the Park – Saturday 6 April 2019

Johnson Park, Constitution Road, Dulwich Hill

Movies in the Park is a family event, bringing together the community with activities for all the family and a selection of our favourite cuisines culminating in a screening of short films by Little Big Shots; Australia’s short film festival for kids and ending in a twilight movie screening of Coco for all the family to enjoy.

Movies in the Park will be held at Johnson Park, Dulwich Hill on Saturday 6 April 2019, with food and activities from 5pm and the film screening commencing at last light around 7pm.

So get the family together, bring a picnic rug and enjoy the evening!

Activities:
• Storytelling, mask making and Ojo de Dios with Inner West libraries
• Learn some circus skills with Circus Drop Zone: trapeze, juggling, spinning plates and more
• Short films by Little Big Shots: Australia’s International Film Festival for Kids
• Garden Games
• Temporary Tattoos

Food:
• Authentic Turkish Gozleme
• Jump & Wiggle – Fairy Floss, Popcorn, Sno Cones
• Serendipity Ice Cream
• Snags Sydney

 

Frequently asked questions

What time does the event start?
5:00pm for all of the activities and food. The screening of Coco will commence at 7pm

Can I park my car at Johnson Park?
Parking is very limited around the park. We encourage you to travel green and leave the car at home. If you do drive, we ask that you adhere to any parking restrictions.

Is food available to buy?
Food and drinks will be available (sausage sizzle, gozleme, fairy floss and ice-cream). Lots of people also bring a picnic.

Is alcohol available to buy?
No. You can bring your own if you like – however this is a glass-free event, so please ensure you only bring cans or casks. We make these events glass-free to keep the site safe from broken glass.

Can I bring my own chair?
You can. If you bring chairs, we just ask that you try and sit towards the back of the crowd, leaving room at the front for those on picnic blankets. This is a self-policing policy and we ask that you be considerate of those around you.

Are chairs available to hire?
No.

Can I bring my dog?
You can, but we ask that they remain on a leash in all areas of the park and under control at all times.

Sustainability
Council are taking steps towards eliminating single-use plastics at events.
We encourage you to BYO re-usable bottle for use at the water stations on site. Bottled water will not be available for purchase at this event.
We also encourage you to bring your own reusable cup to purchase hot beverages.

Smoking
Movies in the Park is a smoke-free event.

First aid
First aid will be on site for the duration of the event.

Off-leash dog exercise for 6 April
Please note that Johnson Park will be unavailable for off-leash dog exercise between 11am and midnight on Saturday 6 April.
