Clothing Swap by The Clothing Exchange

Where: Reuse Hub
Bring along your pre-loved clothes to our clothes swap and exchange them for other items. A great way to save clothes from going to landfill and to revamp your wardrobe!
Drop off up to six items, collect tokens and then return at 12.00pm for the swap itself. Items should be clean, good quality and only have very minor faults (eg. missing a button).

Interested in electric vehicles but not sure if they’re right for you? Check out some electric cars and a scooter at the Australian Electric Vehicle Association stall. Staff will be on hand to show you the features of electric vehicles and to answer your questions.

Compost and Worm Farming Troubleshooting

Compost too wet? Worm farm too dry? Unidentified creatures setting up residence in your home composting system? This troubleshooting workshop will cover common problems in worm farms and compost bins and what you can do to keep your systems healthy. Questions, concerns and weird creatures welcome!

Repair Café with The Bower Reuse and Repair Centre

Bring along a small broken electrical appliance and the experts from The Bower will teach you how to repair it. BYO one small item such as a toaster or kettle. This is a free service and not a guaranteed repair. You can also drop in for a chat with the Bower staff before and after the café times.

Drop in and chat to the team from Sydney’s first tool library. They’ll explain how the library works, what items are on offer and how to donate and borrow items.
At 1.00pm hear tool library founder Amy Croucher participate in the panel discussion Collaborating in the Local Economy at the Stables.

Sustainable Floristry

This workshop will discuss sustainability within the floral industry and the most sustainable way to source flowers for your home or special event. You’ll also learn how to dry flowers and to make everlasting arrangements using dried native flora.
Stephanie from Puggle and Squib has worked at a native flower farm on the Central Coast, sold flowers at wholesale markets and studied floristry at TAFE. Puggle and Squib Wildflowers specialises in sourcing and arranging Australian wildflowers.

Seed 2 Soul Waste Free Cooking

Where: Resource Recovery stall

This cooking demonstration will use fruit and vegetable parts which are usually thrown away. You’ll learn how to make an 'upcycled' tortilla using common leftovers and a ‘zero waste’ salad and salsa verde. Delicious food samples will be available for people to try.
Facilitators Evan and Nicole Pemberton are passionate foodies with qualifications in Health Science (Nutritional Medicine and Naturopathy) and Public Health. They have worked with organisations such as The Bread & Butter Project and Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation.

Native and Honey Bees

Come along to this workshop to learn about Australian native bees and honey bees. You’ll be shown the different types of bees in Australia, how they make honey, how to attract bees to your garden and how to become a beekeeper. Gavin Smith is a member of the Amateur Beekeepers Association and is on the committees of the Sydney Bee Club and the Inner West Beekeepers as Biosecurity Officer.

Inner West Seed Savers will be in the Reuse Hub all day; drop in for a chat! We’ll discuss how seed saving can save you money and preserve biodiversity. Plus you’ll learn about plants that grow well in the Inner West and you can swap seeds too.
At 2.00pm we’ll show you how to harvest, label and store seeds for safe storage.
