In its place, Council is introducing an activation program called Inner West Fest, aimed at reconnecting our community as we emerge and adapt to COVID-19.

COVID-19 Update

Council’s Celebrate 2044 event scheduled for Sunday 17 May 2020 at Tillman Park, Tempe has been cancelled, as part of Council’s Coronavirus response.  

Council is taking this immediate action to protect community, staff and essential services.

This event showcases all that is wonderful about St Peters, Sydenham and Tempe, with gourmet food, drinks, family activities and live music.

Frequently asked questions

What time does the event start?

11:00am for all of the activities and food.

Can I park my car at Tillman Park?

Parking is very limited around the park. We encourage you to travel green and leave the car at home. If you do drive, we ask that you adhere to any parking restrictions.

Is food available to buy?

Food and drinks will be available from the above mentioned food stallholders.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

No BYO alcohol. Local beers will be available for purchase from our sponsor Willie the Boatman.

Can I bring my own chair?

You can. If you bring chairs, we just ask that you try and sit towards the back of the crowd, leaving room at the front for those on picnic blankets. This is a self-policing policy and we ask that you be considerate of those around you.

Can I bring my dog?

You can, but we ask that they remain on a leash in all areas of the park and under control at all times.


Council are taking steps towards eliminating single-use plastics at events.

We encourage you to BYO re-usable bottle for use at the water stations on site. We also encourage you to bring your own reusable cup to purchase hot beverages.


Celebrate 2044 is a smoke-free event.

First aid and police

First aid and police will be on site for the duration of the event.
