Taste Portuguese culture at the annual Bairro Português Petersham Food & Wine Fair, on Audley and Fisher Streets, Petersham.

Celebrate the very best of Portuguese culture with entertainment, music, dance, cultural activities and traditional and contemporary foods for all the family.

With licensed bars serving wines, beer and sangria, celebrate all that is Portuguese in your own backyard at Australia's largest Portuguese cultural fair, featuring traditional and contemporary entertainment.

Food and beverages

There will be a range of stalls providing food and refreshments reflecting the Portuguese and Mediterranean culture. And not to worry, we will have your coffee needs covered with a mobile café available on the day.

How long does the event run for?

10:00am – 6:00pm

Is there parking at the event?

Parking is very limited around the Petersham on event day. We encourage you to travel green and leave the car at home. If you do drive, we ask that you adhere to any parking restrictions.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

No BYO Alcohol. Beer, Wine and Sangria will be available for purchase from one of our five bars onsite.

Can I bring my own chair?

You can. If you bring chairs, we just ask that you try and sit towards the back of the seating areas already set up. This is a self-policing policy and we ask that you be considerate of those around you.

Are chairs available to hire?

No.

Can I bring my dog?

You can, but we ask that they remain on a leash in all areas of the park and under control at all times.

Sustainability

Council are taking steps towards eliminating single-use plastics at events.
We encourage you to BYO re-usable bottle for use at the water stations on site. We also encourage you to bring your own reusable cup to purchase hot beverages.

Smoking

Bairro Português Food & Wine Fair is a smoke-free event.

Emergency services and first aid

Emergency services and first aid will be on site for duration of the event.

Road Closures

Please note the following Road Closures will be in effect for the event: Audley Street (between New Canterbury Road and Trafalgar Street), Fisher Street (between Audley Street and Regent Street) and Sadlier Crescent (between Audley Street and Abels Lane) and the parking lanes on New Canterbury Road (between Gordon street and Audley Street), Petersham will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic, except emergency vehicles, from 1.00AM to Midnight on Sunday 10 March 2019.
