Social support service

Staff and volunteers provide assistance and support to older people by improving social opportunities and participation in the community. This can be through home visits, going out for a coffee, accompanying clients to appointments or personal errands. Volunteers visit the same client on a regular basis.Service is dependent upon availability of volunteers within your area.

Volunteers undergo mandatory police and referee checks.

There is no charge for this service.

For clients aged 65 or over (50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) referrals are made through My Aged Care or by calling 1800 200 422 and requesting Marrickville Social Support Service.
