Public space planning

Current public space planning Proposed public space planning Previous public space planning

The Public Domain Planning team works across Council, the community, with external stakeholders and government agencies to design public spaces including streets, plazas, laneways across the local government area. The designs are based on community participation by engaging with the community to understand how spaces are used now, what they like and dislike about spaces and what they would like to do in the future.

The plans master plans are a ten year list of public space improvements, prioritised according to community feedback. The plans are integrated into Council Forward Budget and Asset Plans, and are used where funding shortfalls exist for grant applications for other agencies.

Below is a diagram of the planning and design process including where the community can participate.
