Implementation Advisory Group (IAG)

The Implementation Advisory Group served during the post-merger administration period of Inner West Council, which ended with the election of new Councillors on 9 September 2017.

Following the merger of Ashfield, Leichhardt and Marrickville councils to form Inner West Council in May 2016, the Implementation Advisory Group (IAG) was formed to help shape decisions of the new council during the post-merger administration period.

The IAG comprised the mayors and deputy mayors of the three former councils.

The role of the IAG was to provide advice to the Administrator on implementing the new council, including:

  • Input into preparation of the Inner West Council Implementation Plan
  • Assisting to monitor delivery of the Implementation Plan
  • Input to development of any policies, strategies and positions of the new council
  • Coordination of advice on key projects and issues impacting the Inner West Council area
  • Rollout of the Stronger Communities Fund
