Inner West Council Elections

Election day, Saturday 9 September 2017

On Saturday 9 September 2017 Inner West Council will hold elections to elect 15 new councillors. The community will elect 3 councillors for each of the 5 wards shown at the bottom of this page.

Voting is compulsory for all people enrolled in the Inner West Council area, and fines apply for not voting.

Enrol to vote

To be eligible to vote in the Inner West Council elections you must have been correctly registered to vote by 6pm, 31 July 2017.

What if I am overseas or away on election day?

If you will be overseas or interstate on election day, you should apply for a postal vote or attend a pre-poll voting centre before you leave.

Pre-poll voting is open from Monday 28 August to Friday 8 September. Voting is not possible at any overseas embassies or interstate offices. Find out more about pre-poll voting here.

Depending on your date of departure, you can choose for postal voting packs to be sent to your home address, or any address you nominate within Australia or overseas.
