  •  Adult Volunteer of the Year Award and 2017 Amy Large Volunteer of the Year

Demetra Proestos 2017 volunteer awards winnerWinner - Demetra Proestos

Demetra has been a volunteer in the Linked-In youth program for the past 4 years. The program aims to empower and support young female students, to keep them engaged, tap into their leadership skills and encourage community participation through a series of activities supported by a group of mentors.

Demetra is a committed and dedicated mentor who is also the Manager of the Balmain PCYC. All the students who have participated in the program naturally gravitate towards Demetra and are able to connect with her in a genuine and authentic way. Demetra's knowledge and skills of the youth sector have also allowed us to enhance and further develop the program. Her willingness to step up and lead programs and provide access to the PCYC space has been an asset to the program and to the development of the young people.
