Take the Summer Reading Challenge!

To celebrate the 2018 Commonwealth Games coming to Australia, our Summer Reading Challenge theme this year is Game On! So get ready to supercharge your summer as we celebrate sports, games, technology and team spirit.

There are heaps of books and family passes to be won, plus all your points count towards your school’s total. The school with the most points wins some great prizes for their school. The challenge starts Friday 1 December 2017 and ends Friday 16 February 2018.

How to enter – ages 5-12

  1. Download an entry form or pick one up at any Inner West Library. Download entry form here. (PDF 100.4KB).
  2. Tell us ten books that you have read or are reading this summer and give each of the books a mark out of 5. This challenge is worth a total of 10 points.
  3. Choose one of the books you have read and write a review on the book. This part of the challenge is worth 10 points.
  4. Hand your completed entry form into any inner west library on or before 16 February 2018.
  5. You can enter as many times as you like so get reading!


Individual prizes. You can be in with a chance to win one of the following:

  • A selection of great children’s books
  • Family tickets to an NRL Club game of your choice in 2018 at ANZ Stadium
  • A family pass to the Powerhouse Museum
  • A family pass to the Sydney Observatory
  • A family pass to the Museums Discovery Centre
  • A family pass for Taronga Zoo
  • A family pass for the Australian Museum
  • A family pass for the Australian National Maritime Museum

School Prize

The school with the most points attained by their students overall, will win a selection of books for their school library, plus merchandise and a visit by members of the Wests Tigers!
