ANZAC Day
ANZAC was the name given to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey early on the morning of 25 April 1915 during the First World War (1914–1918).
The following services will be held in the area.
ANZAC Day Dawn Service – Balmain

Where: Loyalty Square, Corner of Darling and Beattie Streets, Balmain
Inner West Council with Balmain/Rozelle RSL Sub Branch invite you to attend the dawn service at the Loyalty Square monument in Balmain.
Seating
There is no allocated seating for the Dawn Service. Visitors are welcome to occupy the seating available or stand in the open space around the Loyalty Square monument.
Visitors will be required to vacate this seating at the conclusion of the Dawn Service.
Road Closures
Road closures will be in effect from 2am until 9:30am.
Darling St and surrounding streets will be closed from Beattie St & Curtis Rd.
Parking
There is limited parking around Balmain. Operational and Emergency vehicles will be granted access only. Please walk, ride or use public transport.
Public Transport
Normal Sydney Bus services will be disrupted during the road closures 2am-9:30am.
No bus will travel down Darling St and will stop at Montague & Rowntree St where they will continue on their usual route.
Council will provide a free shuttle bus service from Balmain East Wharf to Rowntree St (covering the road closures) commencing at 5am stopping along the way at each Sydney Bus approved bus stops.
Ashfield RSL ANZAC Day Ceremony
The Ashfield RSL Sub Branch invites all members to their Anzac Day Ceremonies at Ashfield Park, corner of Parramatta Road and Orpington Street, Ashfield, on Sunday 22 April, 2018 beginning at 9:30am.
There will be light refreshments and free drinks at the club after the ceremony.

Petersham RSL ANZAC Day Ceremony
The Petersham RSL Sub Branch will hold a Dawn Service at 6am on Wednesday 25 April at Petersham Town Hall, 107 Crystal Street, Petersham.
There will be a light breakfast for Members at the Club afterwards.
