Children's Book Week

Book Week 2017_banner

Book Week competition winnersEach year, The Children's Book Council of Australia brings children and books together celebrating Children’s Book Week. During this time schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children celebrate Australian children's literature.

This year, the theme was 'Escape to Everywhere' and primary school aged children from all across Inner West Council and beyond were invited to enter our Book Week Competitions.

Children in years K-2 were asked to draw a picture of where they would escape to if they could escape anywhere in the world. Children in years 3-6 were asked to write a short story about where they would escape to if they could escape anywhere in the world.

We had 2000 entries with 49 unique schools represented. We would like to thank everyone for participating, and congratulate our winners for their amazing work.
