From 18 April to 18 May, the Inner West will transform into a living museum as it participates in the 2026 Heritage Festival one of the country’s largest community-driven celebration of culture and history, this year’s festival centres on the evocative theme of Change.
The 2026 program invites residents to explore the radical transformations of our landscape—from the industrial echoes of our walking trails to the global cultural movements that have reshaped our social fabric.
This year’s festival captures that energy, whether we are walking the repurposed paths of the Greenway or tasting the history of Marrickville’s Greek migration or cruising in a bus for a curated tour of the Inner West’s most stunning architectural transformations there is something for everyone.
