Inner West Council has 15 councillors. The Inner West Council area is divided into 5 wards (3 councillors per ward).
Local government elections were held on 4 December 2021 to elect all councillors to serve until September 2024. The declaration of results for this election provided below:
Once a year, councillors must elect a mayor and a deputy mayor from among their number. On 19 September 2023, Clr Darcy Byrne was elected mayor and Clr Chloe Smith was elected deputy mayor.
