Clr Louise Steer – Stanmore Ward - Damun (Port Jackson Fig)


Born in Camperdown, Louise Steer is a long term resident of Stanmore Ward.

She works as a self employed lawyer, specialising in advising not for profit organisations. As a visual artist and performance poet, Louise Steer mentors young artists and curates visual exhibitions and performance events at local art spaces.

She is a dedicated community activist with a proven track record, keen to make our Inner West community an even better place.

Currently, Louise is a founding member and public officer of Stop CSG Sydney; founding member and convenor of Caravan Slam monthly performance poetry event; member of Inner West Law Society and member of Inner West Women’s Shed.

She was a founding director of not for profit art space ESP Gallery and was a former member and office bearer of Stanmore School Parents and Citizens Association.

Aims as a Councillor

Protect our community against the destructive WestConnex toll road project.
Find beneficial long term affordable housing solutions; promoting renewable energy in homes and businesses; and preserving our local green spaces.
Promote artistic opportunities for local artists, our lively night time culture, and keeping our local community vibrant.
