Clr Justine Langford – Midjuburi Ward (Marrickville)

Background

Justine is passionate about the environment, local democracy, social justice and building a strong and vibrant local community.

Marrickville has been her home for the last 10 years and she has lived in the inner west for the last 30 years. Justine enjoys the diverse and friendly community, the arts and creativity, beautiful Cooks River and parklands, live music, cafes, bars and restaurants. Her hobbies include cycling, kayaking, growing food and native plants and walking her dog around the river.

For many years Justine has worked in our community for the environment and Indigenous rights and recognition. She is strongly connected with the local area, especially around the Cooks River. Prior to being elected, Justine was an active member of the Cooks River Valley Association (CRVA) and the River Canoe Club and a community representative with the Cooks River Alliance and the Environment Advisory Committee of Inner West Council.

Justine’s working life has been in media and communications. In addition to being a Councillor, she is a proud public servant and an active union member.
