Vouchers will cover the cost of the check or installation. Any parts or accessories will be at your expense. Applications are restricted to Inner West Council residents only.

Australian law requires children travelling in cars to be secured in approved restraints, which means children:

  • younger than 6 months must be secured in a rear-facing restraint
  • 6 months to 4 years must be secured in a rear or forward-facing restraint
  • 4 to 7 years must be secured in a forward-facing restraint or booster seat
  • younger than 4 years must travel in the back seat of a vehicle with 2 or more rows.

Two in three car seats are not used properly.

Make sure your child is safe with a free inspection by an Authorised Restraint Fitter.

The Child Car Seats website provides some great information on safety ratings of child restraints and booster seats.
