Make a submission to the NSW Government before the 3 September deadline.
The State Government’s Sydenham to Bankstown Urban Renewal Corridor Draft Strategy has been revised and is currently on public exhibition.
The draft Strategy was first exhibited in late 2015. The Government received more than 1,800 submissions in response.
Overdevelopment – particularly in Dulwich Hill – was the subject of many of those submissions. There has been no significant reduction in Dulwich Hill in the revised Strategy.
The revised draft Strategy has increased the number of new dwellings in the inner west by 2,500 to 8,500. Total dwellings have increased by 50% (Marrickville Station Precinct) and 500% (Sydenham Station Precinct).
Council is concerned by the lack of a comprehensive infrastructure plan to service this increased population.
