Wet weather status (for Sporting Grounds)
Hirers using Council sporting grounds are expected to regularly check wet weather notices to ensure that their hired fields are open.
Please select the suburb of the sporting ground you wish to check:

During periods of wet weather, the wet weather information line is updated on weekdays by 9am for schools and by 2.30pm for afternoon and evening training and games.
Winter weekend competition
The wet weather information line is updated on Friday afternoon by 2.30pm. If grounds are closed on Saturday and Sunday due to ongoing wet weather conditions or unsuitable oval conditions, the decision will be final.
Summer weekend competition
In the event of Friday night or weekend rain, the closure of synthetic cricket wickets will be at the association or club's own discretion.
Inner West Council – Leichhardt
Please visit the wet weather information page for the current status of Council's sporting grounds in Annandale, Birchgrove, Leichhardt, Lilyfield and Rozelle.
During periods of wet weather, the page is updated on weekdays by 10am for schools and by 3pm for afternoon and evening training. On weekends, inspections are done either early morning or late afternoon for the following day (the page will specify when the next update is due).
Inner West Council – Marrickville
Please visit the wet weather information page for the current status of Council's sporting grounds in Camperdown, Dulwich Hill, Marrickville, Petersham, St Peters and Tempe.
Fields will be inspected during wet weather on Fridays for weekend games, or 24 hours ahead of weekday games or training.
If Council has not closed fields due to wet weather but they are unplayable nonetheless, the hirer should inspect the fields to establish their suitability for play. If fields are unsafe, hirers are expected to apply their own bans for play. Should hirers play on a wet field and damage the field, the hirer may be responsible for cost of repair and may have future bookings cancelled.
To report any issues please call Council on 9335 2222.
