TransGrid Seeks Feedback on New Underground Cables

TransGrid is planning the future of Sydney’s electricity network and are seeking your feedback  on the preferred route for two new underground electricity cables.

The electricity network that currently supplies Inner Sydney is ageing, as many of the assets were built in the 1960s and 1970s. This means that the network’s ability to meet projected electricity demand is reducing.

Following detailed analysis of many possible routes, Transgrid has a preferred route for two new underground electricity  cables and would like your comments and feedback (see map below).

The new cables would not be located on private residential property. Instead, the proposed route would be installed under existing roads between TransGrid’s Rookwood Road and Beaconsfield West Substation with staged construction to install the new infrastructure.
