1993–1995 Council purchases the former Hospital Site
1995–1998 Initial design period
2000–2004 Council prioritises other major projects. Site subdivided
2005–2007 Feasibility study and purchase of 182, 184 and 186 Livingstone Road cottages
2011 and 2012 Planning and community consultation around the development of the site
March–April 2012 Community feedback on the preferred library concept design presented to Council.  Council appoint BVN Architects for the project
July 2012 Contractor appointed to undertake initial site works in preparation for the construction of Council's new community hub
November 2012 Council completes initial early works and securing of the whole site
December 2012 Council resolves to seek expressions of interest (EOIs) from developers to unlock the value of the site
September 2013 Archaeological investigation on the site in search of any significant remains and artefacts
Feb–Apr 2014 EOI process
July 2014 Council identifies four proponents who will be invited to lodge formal tenders
September 2014 Council determines what to include in the tender brief
June 2015 Council considers final tender brief. Tender process commences
August 2015 Tenders close on 26 August 2015
October 2015 Councillors unanimously vote to appoint Mirvac as the successful developer
Early 2016 Mirvac prepares design for the whole site including the new Library and Community Hub according to the BVN design selected by the community and Council in the 2012 design competition
Mid 2016 Development Application (DA) lodged
Mid 2016 Public exhibition of the DA, during which period the community can view detailed plans and make submissions which will be considered in the assessment of the DA.
Early 2017 Joint Regional Planning Panel decision
Mid 2017 Building commences on former Marrickville Hospital site (subject to DA approval)
2017/18 Mirvac constructs new Library and Community Hub (and hands over to Council) and new residential buildings on the remainder of the site.
