Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia Day is Australia's largest community-based environmental event – in 2016 close to 682,000 people donned gloves at 7,117 sites across the country to pick up rubbish in their schools, parks and streets. This rubbish is usually the hard-to-get-to kind, which would otherwise have ended up in our waterways, tangled up in plants, or killing wildlife.

Council is inspired by the dedication and commitment of all the volunteers to help clean up and conserve our environment.

Clean Up Australia Day is held on the first Sunday in March each year. The next Clean Up Australia Day will take place on Sunday 5 March 2017.

Mark your diaries, gather some friends, and help make a difference. Wear appropriate clothing including a hat and gloves, and don't forget your sunscreen.
