Direct debit

Choose from either a one-off annual payment or quarterly instalments to be automatically deducted from your nominated bank account on the due date. Weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments can also be made by arrangement with Council.

By BPAY

You can pay by BPAY from a cheque or savings account (credit cards are excluded). Contact your financial institution for details. The BPAY customer reference number and biller code is printed on your rates notice.

By cash or via EFTPOS (cheque or savings accounts)

  • In person at any Australia Post office
  • In person at any of Council's three customer service centres:
    • Ashfield Service Centre, 260 Liverpool Road, Ashfield
    • Leichhardt Service Centre, 7-15 Wetherill Street, Leichhardt
    • Petersham Service Centre, 2-14 Fisher Street, Petersham

Commonwealth Bank

Payment can be made by cash or cheque at any branch of the Commonwealth Bank in Australia. Complete the details on the bank deposit slip on your rates notice. The bank will stamp the top portion and return it to you as a receipt. You do not need to hold an account with the Commonwealth Bank.

Cheque – in person or by mail

Make cheque payable to Inner West Council and cross "Not Negotiable".

To pay in person, present your cheque – together with the rates notice – to:

  • any Australia Post office
  • any of Council's three customer service centres:
