Pics in the Park: Paper Planes

Friday 10 March 2017

  • A free family event
  • Begins at sunset
  • The Village Green, Mort Bay Park, Balmain

Pics in the Park is a summer free outdoor movie program where local parks are transformed into outdoor cinemas.

The 2017 series launched on Friday with a screening of Australian feature film Spear on 27 January at Leichhardt's Pioneers Memorial Park to celebrate Council's fifth annual Yabun Movie Night. Other films in this year's program included Clueless and The Legend of Tarzan.

The final Pics in the Park for 2017 will be held at The Village Green, Mort Bay Park, Balmain, with a screening of Paper Planes – an imaginative children's film about a young Australian boy's passion for flight and his challenge to compete in the World Paper Plane Championships in Japan.

The screening begins at sunset, with family-friendly short films followed by the feature film.

All Pics in the Park events are free, and drugs and alcohol are not allowed. You are welcome to make a gold coin donation on the night, which will be donated to Twenty10 – a community-based, non-profit, organisation that works with and supports young people of diverse genders, sexes and sexualities, their families and communities. You can find out more at www.twenty10.org.au.
